Facebook announced on Wednesday the creation of “Together in France”, a program whose purpose is to help the resumption of activity of stores and restaurants which had to close during the confinement. The company intends to “support tourism and local shops during the summer holidays “.
The project was developed in collaboration with the specialist in personalized cartography Mapstr, indicates the social network on its blog.
For “Together in France”, a celebrity will contribute to the creation of a weekly card available on Facebook. The document will allow internet users to discover the favourite shops, restaurants and places of Larusso, Sarah Lavoine, the actor Tristan Lopin or even Miss France 2020, Clémence Bottino. The participation of other personalities is announced for this “first solidarity tourism map”.
In order to “encourage the revival of the tourist season in France”, Facebook and Mapstr also rely on their less famous users. Thanks to “a unique feature in the world”, anonymous people will also be able to enrich the maps by including their own favourite addresses. “At the time of the reopening of our favourite places and reunion with our loved ones, we must help these businesses that we have missed so much,” said Sébastien Caron, founder and director of Mapstr.
